My friend Scott Carver of The Penny Jam and Truckerspeed fame was telling me about this video over some happy hour drinks yesterday…and boy, was he right! This video is simply brilliant and reminds me why Blitzen Trapper’s latest record, Furr, is one of my faves – still in constant rotation at Pet Marmoset Headquarters.

Also, as Scott points out over at Truckerspeed.com, the makers of this new Blitzen Trapper video used real sets and actors, camera cranes, underwater freaking greenscreen – all kinds of crazy stuff. They really went nuts on this thing. According to the story from Spinner where Scott first found this video, there were at least 120 people involved in the making. Wow. Here’s a little mini-documentary about the making of it:

And if for some reason, you still haven’t picked up a copy of Furr, go get it. Duh.
Wow, this is one of the best music videos I’ve seen in a long time. Just incredible. It’s also an instance where the video makes me like the song way more than I otherwise would have.
(On the other hand, I found the “Making Of” video a bit annoying and unhelpful… I would have really like to hear more director commentary about the steps they took to go from storyboards to filming, how they brainstormed for the video, who came up with the ideas, etc.)
Thanks for posting this.
